Community Outreach

Building bridges and relationships.

Camp Hanes

The Community Outreach Unit’s (COU) primary mission is to enhance the relationship between the FCSO and the community. The COU identifies resources, hosts events, provides trainings, and builds bridges. Exploring new and creative ways for officers to interact with community members, creating and strengthening relationships is the heart of the Community Outreach Unit.

Not only do we serve and protect, but we must be a part of the community we serve.

With a specific focus on motivating and empowering youth, the Community Outreach Unit offers a variety of programming and training opportunities. Dispelling hate and bias, promoting awareness and education, and working to creatively partner with our community, the COU embodies what it means to be #OneCommunity.

Operation: Circle of Hope

Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, along with Kernersville PD, NCSHP, Winston-Salem PD, and Boonville PD conducted Operation Circle of Hope to thank our medical professionals for their tireless work to curtail the COVID-19 pandemic and save as many lives as possible. Over 75 patrol vehicles participated, traveling from Novant Health Clemmons Medical Center to Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and to Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center. Join us in continuing to thank and support our medical professionals!

This job is more than just carrying a badge. It's about making a difference in people's lives.
